Dropsound is a free utility for playing raw samples. You just have to drag and drop any number of audio files and DropSound will play them and display some information about each file being played. It supports any sample rate and bit resolution even if your audio card does not support them.

DropSound is a different product than the Mac software from www.dropsound.net . We just had the same idea at the same time, great minds think alike. Anyway we plan to update our DropSound very soon and we will then rename it to avoid any confusion.
